H.J. Heinz Company selects Prodika for Global Item Catalogue Development
Prodika to provide content syndication and global standards rationalization for global Heinz organization.

Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas - September 9, 2002 — Prodika, a leading provider of product management and commercialization solutions to the global food and beverage industry, announced today it has been selected by the H.J. Heinz Company to provide the company's global item catalogue solution. Prodika's capabilities are key to Heinz's publication of EAN/UCC-compliant item data to Transora - the consumer products industry consortium exchange - and other key exchanges in North America and Europe.

Through the Global Commerce Initiative (GCI), the consumer packaged goods industry has endorsed a standard product catalogue as the foundation to achieving industry-wide benefits through interoperable exchange services. For Heinz, which has selected the Transora Data Catalogue to exchange item data with its customers, Prodika will provide a platform for standards rationalization, content approval, and secure syndication of the catalogue to support the industry's emerging standards.

Following the success of a recent pilot project with Heinz Europe and Transora, Prodika will now extend the implementation across Heinz's international affiliates with its workflow enabled approval and syndication engine. Within the initial phase scheduled for Q3 2002, Heinz will begin syndication of both consumer and traded unit information for major markets around the world. This engagement will mark the first global implementation of a real-time catalogue rationalization engine and a rule-based transformation framework allowing simultaneous support for today's diversity of catalogue standards.
